For the past few months, my PC has been randomly freezing (sound, display and network connection stops, mouse/keyboard input has no effect). This would sometimes happen after the computer had been on an hour or two, sometimes longer, or sometimes it could run an entire day without freezing a single time.

However, ever since installing a NEWlink 4+1 Slot USB 2.0 PCI Host Card (and moving the wireless adapter and tablet to the new ports) the PC has been freezing much more frequently - sometimes as soon as five minutes after switching it on, and hasn't lasted more than half an hour yet.

I'm about to remove the USB Host Card and see if it helps at all, but I was wondering if anyone had an idea what could be causing the problem based on that?

Sorry about the delay, is this still causing you problems? Faulty hardware is usually to blame for this, could be that USB card with incompatible drivers or just the card itself. Or it could be some other piece of your hardware. Please let me know if taking out the USB card solved your problem so I will know how to help you best next.
