Hey all,

How hot can AMD Athlon 64 CPU's get?
What about ATI Radeon x1800 XL GPU
And Asus A8R-MVP motherboard?

My GPU normally runs @ 61+ C. Today is just a cool day

Hi Toz,

Completely depends on what Athlon 64 you have:
Standard Athlon and FX series, threshold is 70°C
Athlon (socket 939), threshold is 65°C
Athlon (X2), threshold is 71°C

So your CPU temperatures are fine, nice an cool.

As for your GPU, these should ideally be below 60°C. Throttleback temperature (I believe but not absolutely sure) is 68°C. I really don't know the threshold temp, but it's quite high.

GPUs will always run warm. There is not much you can do about that, besides increase Case Airflow. The CPU temperature, and motherboard temperatures are nice and ideal.
