Question [Answered] My PC is old. Is it that bad???

AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz
Nvidia Geforce 4 MX 440 64MB
512MB RAM
Windows XP
40 GB Hardrive

My PC is old now. Is it quite slow to be using nowadays?

I was thinking of getting some FPSs like Half Life 2. Haven't played one in ages!
Will my system be able to run it do you think? I have run Halo on it....
it was very playable, I think i just relaxed a bit on the graphics.

I was thinking of building my own system sometime. Is that a wise option, considering cost? (I know HOW )

It is quite slow nowadays but if it does what you need, why worry about it?

Your PC just about meets the min specs for HL2, how well it will run I don't know but according to the specs it should run

Building your own is a wise choice cost wise as well as you know exactly what you're getting.

Hope this helps

That really depends on where you go for the PC.

The saving might be quite a bit or really not that huge.

The difference is you know exactly what your getting in a PC you built, you know it's not just going to look good on paper and use cheap unbranded hardware.
