I recently bought a 3com Etherlink XL PCI card, PN: 3C900, it's got a bnc connector, game port and ethernet port in it. I've got Windows XP SP2 (Home Edt) installed and it won't install the drivers, or it does but not properly. I see it listed in the list of preinstalled drivers yet it won't work. It says "Error: The device won't start" or something similar. I downloaded a driver off driverguide but XP doesn't recognize it when it tries to install the hardware. I'd really love to use it, it's not life or death since I have other ethernet cards but I'd love to be able to use this one.

Well....I tried the drivers today and it didn't work, but I tried it in another computer with Windows ME, the "Found New Hardware" window came up and installed it no problem....that makes no sense....any ideas?

If it helps any, the computer I want to install it on is a custom system

and the other one that it worked on is an HP Pavillion 8580C
