Default Newbie needs HELP!

Hi all, i was unsure if people offered advice on laptops but felt like this was the best place to ask.

My Laptop is a Sony Vaio FR415M. The problem is I get the initial SONY VAIO bootup screen but then the screen goes blank and nothing happens.

I'm sure this is a simple problem for people who know anything about computers and if it does need repairing I'd like to know which bit needs repairing.

Thanks for all replys, I hope I can get this fixed

Hello redders.
Can you please try and boot into safe mode (Tap F8 straight away while computer is booting up and select the safe mode option)

EDIT:
Just done some searching and it seems to be a common problem, check the following links if you will :

So at this moment in time I think sending it off for repair is going to be the likely outcome. However just hang on and some other members will help you

Thanks for those links, using them I located the problem (kind of ) and all I had to do was take the memory out, wait 5 minutes and put it back in again.

However after reading alot of reviews and such about this laptop I've decided to get rid of it as soon as possible. It seems to be poorly designed and too prone to failure.

Thanks again!

p.s - If any one is thinking of getting a Sony Vaio, my advice is DONT!
