Default Pen Drive Problem...Need Help.

Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum.

I'm using Innodisk pen drive (1G) and I'm having some problems now with the pen drive.

Yesterday morning I use my pen drive in my office and it seems that the pc cannot detect the pen drive. My colleague told rename the pen drive name. Original name was WooYingz and I change it to J and it work. I can access my pen drive. The pen drive works fine the whole day.

When I got back home and open the pen drive.. omg the file is missing. I cannot detect any files but when I check the memory usage it shows that my files in still in there..

Now when I open up my folder I cannot see any files.. Can someone help me with it?

Hello Wooyingz, and welcome to the forum.
Have you tried renaming the drive back to what it was originally? Also try this, right click on the drive icon in my computer, and instead of clicking open, click explore and see if it shows the files.

I already tried to rename it back but still unable to locate the file. I tried using explore but still nothing. The pen drive is still working as I can see the light turns on when I pluck in the port.

I forgot to mentioned that when I use the pen drive at night, I get a pop up saying unable to recognize drive or something like that

Thats pretty odd, i dont believe ive ever had one that just worked in the daytime. lol Can you go to device manager, and see if it shows up there, and maybe try switching ports. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers for the usb devices? Do you have any kind of encryption on it? Do you have another machine you can try it on there, or another usb device or flash drive to try to be sure the usb ports are working on that machine? If none of this works, you might take it back to the office and if that machine will still read it, copy what u want from it.

Sorry for the error I made earlier on. Really sorry. It suppose to be Volume label unrecognized. I tried going back to the laptop i use and now even using the laptop i can't see any files...

I can't do copying or anything.

Btw, I use laptop to rename the pen drive.. I'm using PC at home.. don't know if this information works.

File type is FAT. Now when I tried to rename it says file name too long or something like that. It won't allowed me to change at all.

I've tried everything above but with no results. I can't format the pen drive atm, i got a few very important document inside.

Ok Wooyingz, try this little utility program to see if you can rescue the important files before they get accidentally erased or the drive becomes totally unreadable. Ive used it a few times to rescue pictures from a corrupt sd card, and it works with flash drives as well.
VAIOSoft, Inc - Recovery Manager - Photo Recovery, Data Reocovery, Music Recovery , Movie Recovery for Digital Flim Medias

EDIT: If you can get the files off of it, then maybe a reformat will make it usable again.
