Default Monitor has Blank Screen When starting PC

I Think I have a Graphics Card Problem, But don't know how to fix it.
I have an Older Computer. Compaq Presario
With an On Board Graphics Card.
When I turn on My Computer All I see is a Blank screen.
First since My Daughter and I have identical Computers I hooked up her monitor To my computer And the same thing happened I can hear the Computer Starting but just have a Blank Screen.
Since I do not have any recovery Discs for this Computer.
(It just has a Special Recovery Partion To Reload everything.) When the computer starts you usualy see an option to start Windows or the Recovery partion. But I see Nothing.
After I realized it was not my Monitor. I Took out my Hard Drive and Placed it in my daughters computer. And it started fine.
No errors no problems. But when I put it back in my Computer
I still see a Blank Screen.
I went to Compaq site. And it's telling me to Reset my Bios. Check My connections,
(which I already did.)
Or change my Graphics Card.
I know for a fact I did not change anything in my Bios.
Since this is an onboard Graphics card you have to See A Menu Screen in the Bios
to disable it. And enable a new one.
So If I can't see the screen How do you fix it??
Thank you for any help

Hello themeangel,

Welcome to PCHF.

You said you realised it wasn't the monitor, how?

My Daughter has an Identical Computer.
I hooked up my Daughters Monitor to my Computer, first.
And the Screen was still Blank.
Then I hooked my Monitor to my Daughters Computer.
Which I'm using now. And it's working fine

Sorry dood, I always thought the Compaq Presario's were laptops? What model is it, I'll find you a replacement graphics card. The PC does beep as normal when you switch the PC on also?

No is is a Desktop.
Yes it starts up fine.
Just a blank screen on the monitor. I'ts an old Computer.
But was working fine for my needs before this.
It's a Compaq Pesario S4020WM
But the Current Graphics Card is On board
I don't have allot of knowledge about computers but
From what I undestood.
If you change the Graphics Card.
You need to enter the Bios to Disable it.
Then enable a new Card.
But that would be impossible if you can't see the Screen..

Thank you for your help

It could be a memory problem considering your graphic are on board I would try removing the memory RAM and reseating it and if that duzn't work try the memory out of the other pc that is the same this may solve your problem let me know how you go.
Kind Regards,
Matt
