Exclamation Laptop AC Adapter TIME BOMB!!

(Back story)(Skip down to cut through all the BS lol)
Well i have had only payed for 2 laptops in my life and have had 4 different brands. et me explain. First laptop i had was a crappy Gateway and always had to send it in to get the power plug fixed. I bought a new laptop like 2 years later. It was a sony vio and i loved it but the back power connector kept breaking so they gave me a nice toshiba laptop which i loved even more! then guess what the back power plug kept on breaking so they give me an E-Machine. Its ok BUT i have had MANY problems with the back power plug breaking, screen hinges cracking/breaking and the back light going out. I have probably sent this **** thing in to get fixed ofer 100 times!!

(Skip here)
Well anyways i got my laptop back today and the back is fixed but the back light flickers when i ajust the screen!!! Well everything is working fine - the back light. I soon start hearing a beeping sount. Like a bomb in a movie lol. and noticed that my laptop was no longer charging and the AC adapter is beeping? so i sitting there waiting for the **** thing to blow lol jk. Now the AC adapter wont charge my laptop and beeps. I looked on the internet and found some info saying this happens when it over heats? well its not even hot a lil warm but not hot? What do i do? i really dont want to send it again and have to wait another month before i see it again!

Any help plz

Hey Broken,

I don't believe I've had the pleasure. Can you detect any type of pattern to the beeps? Long, short, long, long, (something like that?) Count them if they come in groups. What you are hearing are motherboard error codes, and each configuration means something different.

Looking forward to your reply,

Its not the laptop thats beeping its the umm uhhh what do you call it? the power box on the coard is beeping the laptop works fine. And its just a beep beep beep beep. I tested it with a multi meter and didnt get anything. So im guessing my AC adapter is dead?

Um yea, unfortunately that's exactly what it sounds like. Sorry to say.

You said that you just got it back from the shop, for the umpteenth time? Is this place reputable? If they are, I would contact the manager, and have them prepared to let you either come in, and immediately have the power cord replaced, or have them replace the entire unit again. You should not have to constantly be taking in a good laptop for broken power adapters, that's ridiculous.

It sounds as if they have at least been trying, hopefully you have not been charged for any of these breakages. A good shop would have tested all of the components they were giving you before letting you walk out the door.

Please let us know what happens, we will be looking forward to your reply,

the thing beeping isn't a UPS? uniteruptable power supply? try pluging the laptop directly into the power point I bet you $100 it is!!!

I would say from experiance in laptop repair that it is not the ac adaptor that keeps being broken it would most likly be the power socket on the laptop. it won't matter what brand you buy it is the way the power socket is mounted on most laptop mainboards and is very easy to break this is 1 major thing all laptop manufactures need to look at I have seen hunders of different laptops that have this problem.

there is even a website that sells the sockets that is how often they break I would consider this a design fault. But if you look at laptop mainboards the scoket is always mounted the same way to break the scoket you just need to wiggle he power pack plug a bit hard.

I wish they would pull ther finger out a fix this problem that has been around for years
