hey guys! how's it going?
alrighty...continuing from the same problem i posted in another thread about overheating...
i've determined it's not overheating. my bios always says temps are fine after freezes and i've cleaned my case of dust and made sure all fans spin - all a-ok
my problem (keeping in mind this wasn't a problem 6 months ago when i built the computer): now a days, whenever i try to play a game (battlefield 2142 demo recently) i can get about 5 minutes of gameplay in and then it blanks my screen out. the monitor usually says "no signal" or "signal out of range". more often than not the sound begins to loop also (so i figured it was a freeze and not a monitor refresh issue - although i made sure refreshes were right). only way to get out of it is to hard-reset and my temps are all find after that (although i should check my vid card).
i've got all the newest drivers...tried toning down settings...nothing
now...i've had problems with my harddrive getting corrupt randomly (think 2 times so far). could a faulty hard drive be the problem? i plan on replacing it anyway
thanks everyone for ANY help you have to offer
