Default [Fixed] Messed up my comp.........

Hello

Im not very good with computers so I want to get some advice.

Problem is the other day I dropped my guitar on my pc (dont ask!!) and the screen froze.

I unplugged the comp thinking that restarting it the old fashioned unplug and plug in way would help.

However, when I tried to restart my comp it would begin to run and then suddenly die out. So I decided to open up the chassis and make sure everything was still connected however this didnt work.

I was messing around with my psu which is an encer atx350w and when i reconnected this and juiced it up it blew and no I have no power at all.

I was wondering if the psu was damaged because of the knock and therefore replacing it would restore my computer back to normal or does this sound like anotehr problem.

Also, would I have to buy an encer psu or could I buy any other brand as long as the Wattage was the same 350.

Cheers

Hopefully the guitar is still working alright.? :-D

It sounds like something shorted out when you connected the PSU back in.
I have had a look on the internet and that encer atx350w looks like a standard power supply unit.

The only thing you need to make sure is that you purchase another PSU that is 350w.

Before you connect the new PSU, pick up the PC and rotate it from side to side to make sure there isnt anything loose.

If you hear something rattling around, have a look and remove it, otherwise connect the new PSU and your system should hopefully start working.

Good luck
