Ok. I'm a little confused here. When playing games on a pc, when you are running a game, does it TEMPORARY use ram from the pc? So pretty much, If I ran call of duty 4, played it a couple of times, then exited the game, will I still have all of my video memory from my video card, and my ram on the pc? Will the ram return back to 4 gigs or however much after I exit the game? Thanks.

Yes, when you exit the game the RAM will stop being used by it.

RAM is ALWAYS being used when the PC is running, period. It only stops once the computer is shut down. Then it clears out everything, waiting to be started again. Also, I don't quite understand the question about COD4. If you're asking if you play the game, then exit, then you will have all your memory not in use by Windows or other background tasks. Once the application or game closes, it clears itself out and returns the used RAM back.
