i purchased tiger woods 08 off the ea sports site last march. i've played it many times until recently it said i had to log into the download manager and verify my ownership. i punched the cd code they provided in my email but the manager did not do it's job. i tried to get some help from ea themselves. they told me to uninstall both the manager and the game but because i purchased/downloaded the game over their online store i would have had no way of reinstalling the game. i got to the point where i just went out to best buy and bought the game itself. i get home uninstall all the ea sport garbage software and insert the disc. nothing happens. i even tried looking in the d drive folder and it says please insert disc.... am i being locked out? my cd rom reads other discs and the game loaded just fine in a different computer. any ideas? thanks

Have you tried to do a System Restore to a point before you downloaded and installed the game.

Doing this should let you then install the game with out any conflicts with the cd...

yeah, my system restore only goes back a few months. i originally downloaded the game earlier than that.... bah, it's driving me nuts that i bought a game twice and can't play it...

You could try CCleaner's registry cleaner on it, it should clean any rubbish entries from the game.

This may fix the problem...

that's a cool program seems like it cleaned quite a few things up. unfortunately didn't fix my game issue. i just find it so bizarre that the drive does not even recognize it in my computer... at first i thought it was just and autorun problem but i can't even see the files on the cd rom itself.
