Have you tried installing the game on a different comp to see if its related to the game itself or just your comp? Lets try eliminating possibilities

I was having A similar problem with A Game called F.E.A.R wich I could not start.

Until I made A full system restore using Vistas system restore.

If you do use system restore though, try to use it from the recovery console using your Vista install disk, if you have one. and boot to your recovery console = (repair vista) Because every time I have tried to restore Vista from inside Vista from my active desktop it restores but not fully and i get an error stating that restore was not successful.

Restoring Vista from recovery console has successfully restored my system every time %100 success rate. and fixed no end of issues for myself

lol , just look at my pc specs and you decide if i can do that

anyway , this can be closed , i got Windows 7 and somehow that solved the problem!
