ok so i had a question about the halo CE type box. i cant see my text when i type and all that appears is tht gray box. and on top of that on the left side of my screen it usually tells me i have killed Dave(3) or it tells me dave was killed by shdashd. now its not showing me any of that stuff even when i do kill sum one. idk if this makes any sense or not but please i really do need the help.

Welcome to PCHF. We have a terrific team of techs here, as well as some very avid gamers, and I am sure that we will be able to track down the cause of your trouble.

First of all, can I ask you a couple of questions? First of all, I am going on the assumption that you are playing Halo on your PC.
Was Halo working properly before? Have you checked to make sure that all of your updates, not just the Halo ones are current? Have you tried reinstalling Halo? Did this all happen at once, or did it start to go and then deteriorate over time? Have you recently installed any new hardware or software on your PC?

Ok. I have reinstalled halo again. it was working very well for a couple mounths. all the text and everything. i dont really no about the updates though is there a link to update halo cuz i have no clue what version im running? and i havent downloaded anything new before this problem occured.

Everything else is working all the maps and u name it. but the only promblem i have is the side bar were it tells me my kills and who killed who is gone and my talking bar is a gray with no white cursor so i cant type. and it doesnt do anything if i click on it.

Go here to Microsoft's Halo webpage, and down near the bottom of the page there are several updates for Halo CE...

ok i re installed it 3 times already. i dont have the disk so i cant re do tht and all the other things i try hyst arent working . is there anything else u can suggest?
