I just bought the game Demigod a couple days ago and installed it on my computer without a hitch, but when I click on the shortcut or the application directly to run it, the hourglass shows up next to my mouse for a couple seconds and then goes away without the game loading. "Demigod.exe" pops up for about 15-20 seconds on Task Manager under the Processes tab, but then goes away as well, never manifesting itself as an Application.

My computer is pretty old, about 3-4 years old I think, but it was able to run Call of Duty 4 and Left 4 Dead just fine on the lowest settings, and Demigod doesn't seem like it would be nearly as graphics intensive as those two and they all have similar requirements. My graphics card is also rather outdated, an ATI Radeon X300 with 128MB memory.

The minimum requirement for Demigod is a 128MB 3D Video Card (GeForce 6800/Radeonx1600 or Better) and I updated my drivers recently (and correctly I hope), but I'm guessing the problem comes from my graphics card or drivers being outdated or incorrectly installed. Any input would be appreciated!

Have you tried reinstalling the game? It could just be that some of the files got corrupted.

What OS are you on? Lots of games have problems on Vista, especially when installed in the C:\Program Files folder.

A reinstall would be a good idea. Also try installing it to a different location such as C:\PC Games\Demigod.

Check to see if there are any patches available from the Demigod website.

It is possible that the game uses some sort of advanced shader or lighting effect that your card doesn't support. Although normally you receive a message about that sort of thing.

If you go to YouGamers - Demigod System Requirements and run the test for Demigod. Does it say that you pass the test?
