I don't have a specific game that I'm having trouble with, but instead all games in general. I recently installed the Battlefield 2 demo, and before that had tried the Battlefield Heroes beta. When I tried to start either of them the computer would display a black screen as if it were going to start the game, but then just goes back to the desktop. It may be a driver error, but I know it is not a virus. I have also considered that there may be an issue with my computer being unable to handle the graphics (I have a crappy integrated graphics chip) but it seems unlikely that that is the problem though.

Welcome to PCHF. We have a wonderful team of techs here, and also a very experienced user community, and I feel certain that we can help you figure this out.

First, can you please go back to your User CP, and go to Edit Options, scroll down until you find the location to enter your system specs, and enter them so that the techs can have all of that information whenever they need it?

Also, did you check to make sure that you meet the minimum requirements for those games? They tend to be very graphic intensive, and if your system doesn't meet the minimum, or only just meets it, the game may not be able to load.

I just updated my drivers, as per the advice of EA. I'm continuing having the same problem. My friend suggested I get a better graphics card, so I'll probably do that if you folks advise me so.

Why don't you try downloading Belarc from my signture, once you have installed and run the program, it will give you a complete rundown on your PC, including your MOBO, which may list as Mainboard, and all the other hardware on your PC.

Then we will be able to better make recommendations.

Try updating your directx too

Directx is current, just ran the belarc thing. Updated my specs to the best of my ability (that (oops)thing impressed the (ooops) out of me!)

have a look in the event viewer to see if there are any errors.
