Hi guys im new here, hoping you can help me solve my issue. i just purchased a ASUS laptop from best buy (after cleaning all the best buy **** off it) i started trying out games for it. i started out with Portal, Empire Total war and some others, but the newer games dont work as well.

now i know what your thinking ( wow this guy is an idiot, his Laptop is not fast enough )

well i'm not an idiot... least i don't think so. all the games i have tried, including velvet assassin, Company of Heroes, DOW 2, and armed assault all check out on "Can i run it" as better then minimum requirements. or the specs listed are over min or matching recomended. the graphics drivers are updated but it does not seem like graphical lag. its like a keyboard and mouse lag. takes a long time for the game to respond to my input from the controllers.

the game i notice it most on is armed assault where the FPS runs awesome... better then my normal rig, just when i try to aim/move it takes between .30 ms to a second for it to respond.

also a friend of mine suggested it might just be because its a laptop, but i want to make sure before i give up hope

Well at least you did run a scan,with can u run it!
Also you may hit it on the head it could be your input,but i am not a gamer so i will open this thread so our Tech's and or gamers can address your problem/question...thanks for your patience.....

Try changing your power settings to always on for everything and see if that helps. Also check the Asus Power4 Gear settings are set to Super Performance or game.

Is there heaps of stuff running in the background. If so these could be causing the problems.

What antivirus do you have installed? Have you tried temporarily disabling the antivirus to see if that helps?

What keyboard and mouse are you using? e.g. wired mouse with notebook keyboard.

i have tried messing around with the power settings, but not much so ill try that.

i have tried closing the non needed stuff. not much, as i said i cleaned out all the bs that best buy puts on it.

my anti-virus is AVG Free (have had no issues with it before)

and for keyboard im using the laptops built in keyboard and a wired laser mouse. or the touchpad

And what happened with the Asus Power4 Gear?

What was that set on? Did you try changing that to Game.

Although you may not have had problem with your AV slowing things down when gaming on a pc, you may notice a difference on a notebook. Try disabling it temporarily to see if it makes a difference.
