Default Games keep freezing!!!

Please Help!!!

I have recently purchased a new PC, the specs are as follows:
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E7500 2.93 GHz
Intel Exec Series Desktop Board DQ45CB Motherboard
4G DDR2 Ram
Nvidia Geforce 9400GT 512MB DDR2
500G Hard Drive
23” Samsung SyncMaster 2333 Monitor
Windows XP Pro SP3
460W PSU
My problem is that every time I try to run a game, the game will last about five to ten minutes when the game will freeze. Most cases I have to turn the machine off and restart. However I once managed to get back into Windows. When it happened everything was in 4 bit colour and **** resolution. The error message box displayed this:
The nv4_disp display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to Microsoft."

Now I have tried installing the latest drivers from the Vida site and nothing, same problem.
I went out and bought a new PSU (460W) and still nothing.
Any other suggestions?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You said you went out and bought a NEW PSU, the exact same one? I'm not sure that was the best idea.

Perhaps you are not meeting the games requirements. It could be a defect or some other issue. In that case I would return it. Did you buy this from online or a store?

how recently did you buy the pc? do you have another gpu that you could try to see if you have the same problem? i can see why a problem like that might happen with a 250w supply because the required is 300w but you have a sufficient psu now..

still sounds like you aren't gettin enough wattage from psu. recommend higher wattage. I use a 750watt psu. Stronger gpus and what not demand for more power so everytime you upgrade a piece in your computer remember you are pushing yourself towards upgrading the rest

it could also be that maybe your temps are too high. if you use your pc for just like web surfing then your not asking for much from your gpu and it would run fine. but then if you play a game and it starts to work harder, it could overheat i guess. download speedfan Download SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer and check your temps
