Hello, I am trying to play American Conquest, but when I click the icon, an error pops-up and says "DirectDraw has failed to open, Hardware Acceleration may not be turned on". And Hardware Acceleration is turned up on full. I have installed and played this in the past. my DirectX version is 8.1

You already know that we need to see what system you are trying to run this on.. is it capable?

Here is the link to the latest version of Direct X.. 8.1 is far behind.. but then again.. if this is another older system.. there are some things there that may help.
