Ok...so the game is Eastside Hockey manager (online)...

The game will run in a network game for a week or so, and then when I come home any random day (this is the 4th time) my internet will be out and when I turn it back on I get a message when I try to play the game:

"The network could not be opened. Check your network settings and try again."

I have done everything I can imagine to fix it, and the only thing that ever works is to reformat my computer. After a reformat my router settings at 192.168.0.1 are the same, so I know it is not a router issue. I have diasbled Windows Firewall after a couple of the reformats hoping this would help solve the problem... any ideas??

It is a real pain to reformat every week or so....

Edit: Also NOTHING else on my entire computer is affected by the internet outage that causes this game to stop working...

also thanks in advance for trying to help

2 questions 1, are you leaving the game conected to the network for days, week at a time
2.. is there a lot of data transfered between your pc via downloads/uploads during this time if so it is possible it is your isp cutting the conection if there is a lot of activity downloading/uploading data , most large isp's have now signed up to a bill to stop illegal file transfers namely pirate software and music/video transfer so if your pc is transfering data for those amounts of time they could be capping your speed, you should give them a call and have them test the connection and be prepared for some questions from them about your uploads/downloads if it is them causing the disconections
