Hi days_between!!
Welcome to the PCHF, have you tried updating the game to the latest patch? Sid Meier's Pirates! News Also, could you please go back to the UserCP section of the forum where you inputed you pc specs, there's a little box that you must turn to yes in order to allow other members to see your computer specifications

For the system specs:
Go to your UserCP, from there on the left menu' select "Edit Options", about half way through the page you can see this option: "System Specs Would you like to show other members your system specs? Default is (NO) This will be displayed in your posts via a drop down menu for other members to view. " The option will be set to NO, change it to YES ![]() For the processes: It is normal to have several processes running at any one time (you can check this but looking at your processes as soon as you boot your pc). Of course this doesn't mean that all of them are supposed to be there, but if you are not experiencing any problems beside this issue with this one game I wouldn't think that there is a problem there. This brings me to my next question... Any other games acting weird? Since the game is fairly old it might need to run in compatibility mode. Please see if you can locate the system spec option so we can decide weather to give that a go. There are another few things i'm thinking of but I'd prefer to see your system specs before so we can rule out all of them one at a time
