Unhappy Memory error when playing Spore

Feel free to move if you find it necessary.

So I've had Spore for 6 months now, and whenever I try to play it, I get the error message:
"Memeory at 'insert random numbers here referenced memory at 'more numbers here'. The memory could not be 'read'".

A friend of mine told me I had damaged RAM, so I blew a bunch of money repairing it. Well, that didn't work, and I still get the message.

Help?

CupOfFail,

Hello and welcome! A screenshot of the error would help things along.

I am in fact, quite cool. My graphing calculator confirms this

Thanks for that. I'll mark this as open so the rest of the tech team knows to reply

hello there!
Let's see if we can get some more details:

Please follow the step by step here to fill in your pc specifications:
http://www.pchelpforum.com/new-membe...r-pc-spec.html

Does this happen with any other game?
Does it happen on starting a new game too or when loading a saved game? (if you used a trainer it might have corrupted your saved game)

Thanks for the interest.

I don't use this computer for gaming very much, so I'm not sure if this happens for other games. It happens when I attempt to open the program, or any time in the middle of running it.

Ok, let's go over the possible solutions one at the time.
Since Spore takes an average of 10mins to install... have you tried uninstalling the game and then re-installing it?
if you want to save your saved games and creations, make sure to keep a copy of the "My Spore Creations" folder inside "my documents", and of the "Spore" folder located here:

C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Application Data\Spore

(if you can't see this folder, make sure hidden files are showing in your folder options)

If you already tried a fresh install please post back so we can move on to other possible causes
