ok, so after i joined this forum site and read my message, i download the recommended uniblue which checked for my outdated drives. i wanted to update my dusty graphix driver to something that will let me play combat arms or something similar. i used to play it before on the same computer so i know the system will be able to handle it, and im saying before i formated my pc and needed to intall the drives all over again.

here is my question: is uniblue asking to download or upgrade the driver that i have?



and another: any other version of the graphics controller will let me play that game? (my version in the pic)

im running on xp pro 32bit

i got, i did as uniblue told me and downgraded i guess to the other drive its instaled properly and i have that little icon with a monitor in my tray next to the clock, 2 bad the game still doesnt work, ill keep you posted, ty anyways

If you specify what the symptom is with the Combat Arms game, perhaps someone else will be able to assist you.

I'm moving this thread to the PC Games forum since the issue is no longer the graphic driver.

ok this is the error that i have been getting, if i download and try to install direct x it says that i either already have it or i have a newer version

I'm not a gamer either but I did do some looking around at game sites and the response I saw from quite a number of gamers was that as updates occur at times it changes matters to the point where your graphics card may no longer be capable of handling the game.

Unless I missed it you don't mention what your graphics card is?

Also for what it's worth I believe it to be a far better idea to get latest drivers from the manufacturer site of whatever card you have.

If you post your hardware configuration I'd be happy to point you in the right direction.

If you don't know what you have click on the "Belarc Advisor" in my signature and run it then you will have all the information pertaining to your system.

The info under "main circuit board" and anything to do with graphics/video would be good.
