Hello I saw this posted on a earlier thread and he said he DL the game. Mine was preordered and picked up at a GameStop it is the full version not BETA.
I played the BETA and had no issue with it. Of course the only issues I have had with COD 5 is the released version.
Can someone help?
Error is: Error during initialization: Unhandled exception caught
I have been looking all over the net and found you guys here. You all seem to be pretty helpful.
I have updated all my drivers previously. I am running directx 9.0c. I am running windows XP. Pentium dual core E6300. 4 gig ddr2 ram. Nvidia 7600gt video. onboard sound (i think this might be my issue)
I have tried many things to fix it even uninstalling (even from registry) and re-installing the game. I am leaning towards hardware issue. I am thinking maybe the on board sound.
Any thoguhts?
Thanks
-Chris

First have you checked out the Call of Duty website and their support?
If you disable your sound in Device Manager is there still an issue?

hi, it was me who downloaded it and had your same problem. i was able to fix it. its very simple. all you have to do is go to: control panel>sounds and audio devices>speaker settings>advance>performance> then move hardware acceleration to full and the other one to best.
hope this helps, it worked for me PS. its for windows xp, not sure for vista

I went out and got a cheap SB sound card and put it in. Fixed the problem.
Good game but WAY to picky for not having the best graphics/sound that i have ever delt with in a game. Thanks for the input -Chris |
