Pending: Games won't start on my PC

If I go to load a game like Half life: source, it doesn't do anything, I click on it to play, (on steam) it says its starting up the game, but doesn't go full screen or anything, the message that its starting goes away and my computer just doesn't do anything.

I've tried this with a few games, I used to be able to start up games and play, but now they just do nothing.

please help

Do other applications work, apart from games?

yeah, other applications, like fire fox and steam work for me,

when I try to start it up I go to my proccesses, on the ctrl alt delete thing, and it is up there for a a few seconds then goes away, for me I'm trying to play half life, so it says hl2.exe, then dissapears from the proccess list,

At that stage of the loading process, it may be a faulty sound or graphics driver. Try updating both.

If you don't know where to get drivers from, tell us your PC make and model and we'll help you find them.

I do not know what my graphics card is, but I have run games on my computer before and now I can't run any game.

I dont know that either, or can you rephrase it, is it like my processor or something?
