Rename servercache.dat file in your CoD folder to something else (like severcacheBACKUP.dat) and then try running the game.

There's also been some reports that updating the game and/or your video drivers fixes the issue.

The reason you don't have a servercache file is because it's started successfully in multiplayer mode. The servercache just stores the servers you connect to.

Have you applied all the latest patches?

Can you please try running cod in windowed mode (not sure if it can be done with COD) - that way you will receive a more detailed error message which may help to fix the problem.
To run in windowed mode:
Right click the MP shortcut > select Properties.
In target add: +fullscreen 0 to the end - or change the 1 to 0 if fullscreen is already there.
E.G: "c:\windows\program files\cod\cod.exe" +fullscreen 0

If it was successful please post back with the detailed error message.

I can't launch cod in windowed mode - it still starts in fullscreen. I haven't install any of the patches, because i played on 1.0v version before and after patchhing it's diffrent. Thing is that on my friend's PC it starts without patches.
