No, they will need to type yourip:28960 (go to whatismyip.com to find out) and then give them a command like:

connect YOURIP:28960

The 127.0.0.1 is an internal IP address and is used to identify your PC to itself. Note: if they can't connect go to PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall click on your router and select Call of Duty 4. Follow the instructions to forward the port, and then follow the instructions again but do it for both these ports:

UDP:20800
UDP:20810

Due to the nature of this problem, I sorted it live. I needed to check the port whilst Melia changed settings.

For anyone else that wants to know how I solved it here it is:

I checked the current IP of the machine on the internal network and discovered it was different to the one traffic for that port was being forwarded to. So I helped Melia set up a static IP using this guide PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall and re-configured the IP setting on the router and it is now fully functional.

yo upgrader
im not sure wether this is to do with setting uo a static ip or not but my internet has gone incredably slow or not working at all at times. But when i plug my laptop into my modem directly it works fine which makes me think theres something up with the router so my ISP wont help.

a few days before it happened i have set-up a static ip opened some ports and a cod 4 server

on my pc the settings for a static ip have changed back to automatic i asked my family and they say they haven't changed it.

any ideas?

Hi Melia,

I'm not sure what has reset your settings or why your internet has gone slower. But I will refer this to a tech team member and see if they can help

Hey Melia?

Could the automatic settings be changed when you connected your modem up? In order for you to make a connection to the internet via your modem, these settings would need to have been set to automatic. The address that would have normally been assigned to your router, is assigned to your PC instead.

The problem is most likely with your router. What is the make and model of your router? Are there any other devices that could be stealing bandwidth from your router?
