PC Games - crysis warhead wont install posted in the Software forums; OK, did scan of hard drives and sent micrsoft details of problem, now waiting....
OK, Microsoft's response was to, disable everything not Microsoft from services and disable everything on start up. This was the first thing I tried, before and after driver updates. But I do it again and I can read all files on disc ( wtf ). So I start to enable everything one at a time and check to see if I can read the files, OK. Well, now, I get to the point everything is on and I can still read the files. Now I turn off the things I normally have turned off and I can still read the files? I checked, and, the only windows update I have in the last 3 days was today some time, it was for windows defender ( kb915597 ). I just don't get it, spent days messing with this and it just decides to work? Could Microsoft had done something remotely to my PC?

lol, nope! how odd! Possible nasty, the kb915597 is a definition update. Or it could be a third party app after all, so if it does happen again (hopefully not), disabling them one at a time may be a better idea in identifying which one. At least you won't have to re-install. Will mark this one as fixed.
