How many processes do you have running in the background. Do you have heaps of icons in the system tray? Disable any that you don't need while playing games. Right click and select exit or change the programs not to automatically start when you start windows.
Does your monitor have a DVI connection? If so try connecting the monitor with the DVI cable.
Sadly I've tried all of that (except I'm not sure how to find out my power supply, it's just the power supply that came with the set up).
Admittedly I don't know too much about computers but I would venture a guess that this isn't a performance problem. I used to have a 512Mb
RAM and I had this problem, then I bumped it up to 1.5Gb and I still had this problem (and eventually I started getting
BSOD's), I then cautiously stepped down to the 1Gb
RAM that I have now and I still have this problem. I also generally don't run many background programs except Norton System Doctor, but switching that off doesn't make any difference.
I should also point out that once in a blue moon (like 3 times in the last 2 years), my games do actually run without this hesistating problem. But I don't think I've been doing anything different on those times.
Sorry I'm not making this easy on you guys.
