hi folks i really need some help i just built my new pc which is
ASUS P5B SE
INTEL Q6600
1GB RAM
NVIDIA 8400 SE 512MB VGA
every time i play games it keep freezing after about 10 min last time it was terorist take down 2 but its the same vith Far cry so where should i look for trouble
please help if you know how

What brand of PSU are you using, and what is it's +12 volt power output current rating (in amps). You could also have a heat problem.

INTEL Q6600 +ORIGINAL HEATSINK
MB- ASUS P5BSE
GPU- NVIDIA 8400GS
PSU- EZCOOL 550W
1 GB DDR2 RAM
WINXP
BOX HAS BIG FAN ON BACK AND SEPARATE AIR INTAKE WITH SOME TUBE ON SIDE ABOVE CPU
CPU HEAT IS NOT OVER 45CELSIUS

Hi,

You haven't said, but I assume you have already updated your drivers for: NVIDIA 8400GS - could you also post any other diagnostics that you have already tried.

sorry but i dont get it what diagnostics you mean yes i hawe the latest nvidia driver xp with sp3 and all drivers all latest as i build this comp last week its also have direct x 9c hdd was defragmented.

Hey Denis,

I would check your heatsink connections on your video card and processor. if there is a lock up it could be due to heat.

Use hwmonitor to see what your GPU temps are. I was having this same problem after I built and overclocked my system. But it was only with Blizzard games and WMP.

Try going to the advanced tab in your bios and set the latency timer to 64 (that's what mine is, default for you I think). Anyone know what LT should be set to?
