thanks but how do I know if it's on medium settings? there are so many sliders and settings... I don't know what should be adjusted for it to be set on medium...

I would have textures set to large, with anti aliasing on 2x or off. Everything else should be in the middle (but turn OFF GRASS COMPLETELY its a huge resource hog) but have shadows on low as well, with shadow filtering set to low.
