Default cannot copy:data error cyclic redundancy check

I am trying to get FF 7 on PC working.

And I am looking for a solution to this error.

"cannot copy:data error cyclic redundancy check"

After following advice that I should run the videos off my hard drive but when I try to copy I get "cannot copy:data error cyclic redundancy check"

The CD is in great physical condition but based from what I found on the internet, this error occurs on a CD that is in bad shape but this CD has hardly has any scratches on it.

If I can't resolve this then how the hell does it happen as the guy I bought it off said it worked fine this year but I have tried it on 2 computers and each time I get this error when I try to copy the files needed off it to run on my hard drive.

I am not sure how this could happen really doesn't make sense at all; some true data about this would be great.

Thank you for any info about this.

It is .avi. I want to get FF7 to play the videos off the harddrive but not sure how. I tried the reedit and changed the video file dir. to the one with them on the hard drive but when it goes to play a movie the screen goes back.

With the movies that worked off the CD, they worked fine but for the corrupt ones and this is where I am stuck.
