Angry PhotoGallery

I have an old PC game I still enjoy, Darkstone. I also have a HP printer. When I try to access the game, I'm usually stopped cold by something called "PhotoGallery" which, I believe, has some connection with my printer. This whatever-it-is thing insists on opening as well, and the game cannot proceed. Ctrl/Alt/Del will not close PhotoGallery without also closing Darkstone.

Any thoughts on getting rid of PhotoGallery? I do not use this software at all. In fact, I can't even find it on my computer.

Argh. And thanks.

Default Re: PhotoGallery

Go download the Sysinternals Suite from MS here:
Sysinternals Suite

The whole package is at the bottom of the page -or- just grab Process Explorer on the right side of the page. Unpack the zip and run procexp.exe as Admin.

Now try and crank up your game. When you get to the point of the the Photo whatever-it-was grabbing the focus, go check the threads in procexp.

Right click and kill the one for the Photo app and see what happens.

ciao,

rexb
