Post HELP! general pc games question

Hi =) as a girl i havent really played much pc games, but im looking at getting a new computer soon, and would like to play some games on it - yeh the 'hardcore' ones lol

basically, my question is this; im buying a pc controller also, can i configure the controller to use for like movement, and also use a mouse for aiming? sorry if ths is a dumb Q n all, it's just using a controller is the only way for me to play any good (cos im terrible using qwerty on the keyboard) , and it would be great to be able to aim also with the mouse still! THXXXXX to ne1 who might b able to help!

Hi there and welcome to PC Help Forum

Actually, most games will allow you to use either keyboard/mouse or controller controls. Dependant on the need to move and the type of movement, you may find (as with First Person Shooters) that the keyboard and mouse combination will give you greater accuracy. You can set the keyboard up for the keys that suit your speed, and skill.

thx Hengis is it possible tho for a type of combination of the two? :P i mean like to use the pc pad thumb stick for moving around in first person shooters, and still use the mouse for aiming and shooting ? lol ya i know it would look odd holding just one half of a controller in one hand and the mouse in the other, but i really think that would give me an edge! so do you think it can be done?

I know there are ways of using your controller as a mouse but I haven't seen, what you're suggesting, done. It's a bit like the Wii control set up....
