My wife is an avid Scrabble fan, so I bought her Encore's Scrabble 2007 v1.0, and requires CD disc in drive for startup. If I would have known that this kind of copy protection was a feature.....I wouldn't have bought it. It's a real pain in the a$$.

The drive vibrates for about 20 seconds, while the proggie loads the key. Always have to have the disc handy. Explorer will activate disc drive too.

So question is, will virtual CD software such as Phantombility Software - Virtual Storage Solutions solve the problem? I've downloaded cracks, but I haven't had the guts to install them.

Any thoughts?

Hello jim,I would certainly NOT use the cracks or you will be back in a few days with other problems I would delete them.

Did you aquire this software via a shop or some other form of download?Other than manufacturers?

I am not familiar with this program but wait a little while I am sure some one will help you out on that one.

Bought it at Best Buys...it's on a CD.

So what happened to the origonal key?

I am not sure with this one,have you tried copying the entire disk to C drive and run from there?

Are you sure your CD/DVD rom drive is ok or needs replacing?

Drives OK.....DOS days are gone, there is SecuROM copy pro on the CD, that looks for the orig CD before loading. I've tried a couple of virtual CD proggies, but the version of SecuROM must be different than what the apps have in them.
