i have a number of drives in my computer and was running out of room on my main drive c so i moved some game save files to another drive, what is the same drive that the games are installed in but when i played the games there where no saves avaliable to load but the files are there when i access them through my computer. how do i make the games pick up the files so i can load them. thanks

Since you manually moved the saved files, the games will not by themselves be able to find the files.

If you list the exact name of the games, someone might be able to guide you through how to tell the game where the file has been moved to.

the main games are age of empires 3 and sims2. but i would also like advice on which type of folder to look for, there location in general and what to do with them for future save file movements if possible for the moment its just these two. thanks

Hi, a the majority of games that I have ever played will either put a game save foler in the program files folder e.g C/Program Files/Age of Empires or in a seperate folder in your My Documents folder e.g c/My documents/Age of empires so in theory if you find the game saves you have moved then move them back to where they should be then the game will find them when you run it,

As for making the game look in a differtent location for save game files im not entirely sure this is possible

The easiest way to get all the files and folders for the games back where they should be is to un-install and reinstall the games

IMO its nots really worth worrying about moving the games saves because they dont really take up much room, they are generally small files

i have moved them back to they work fine.
