Default Gfx card update, PCI, etc? what one

Hi, I'm a bit confused on what type of gfx card I should get, I see PCI, AGP and I don't know which one I need. I have a Dell Insprion 531s. I want to upgrade my card for gaming.

HI welcome to PCHF you will need to get a card to fit PCIe x16 (Graphics): 1 Slot in your PC some of the gamers in the forum will be able to suggest some good cards what games do you play?

Default What card should I buy

Hi, I'm working with roughly $250 to spend on a gfx card and I was wondering what would be the best one for me to get?

I need a PCIe x16 type card aswell. I would also like to play COD4 good,

An Nvidia 8800 is a fairly descent card but the gamers will may suggest another card

I'm not sure on US prices, but the 8800 is a good choice. They're isn't much point getting a low 9 series. Bang for buck the 8800 wins imo.

Make sure you get a good make of it too, Evga, XFX, Gigabyte etc are all good.

GTX > GTS > GT.

My advice would be to get the GTS version, but if you can afford get the GTX.

I've not played COD4 on this card yet (Evga 8800 320MB GTS) but I get a good 400 FPS on CS:Source.

Very important is your Power Supply wattage. I've seen Dell Inspirons with 350 Watt PSU's, an 8800 is great card, but I've seen 375 - 450 watts recommended.

More in line would be an 8600. Anything is possible, just be prepared to change out the PSU
