I am trying to play Synthesia for my friends and I to play when we all get together, but the problem is I am missing a file called d3dx9_27.dll. There is a link on the front page that talks about this issue, but from what I can tell, it is a file associated with DirectX 9, and I am running DirectX 10.

What can be done about this?

It seems your game did not install that file for you. Future version might. Till then, try downloading #27 from this page, unzip the file, and run the exe. It will automatically install the dll for you. If that doesn't work you can try the Synthesia Forums(https://www.synthesiagame.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=6). Type "d3dx9_27.dll" into the search bar and you will find a few posts about it.
