Hi all. I play cod4pc with a group of gamers online and we have recently set up a custom server with the ace mod and custom maps. We have a redirect set up to download the custom maps and mods from because as everyone prob already knows the servers dl speeds are throttled at 12-13kbs. I can download from the redirect at 300kbs and others even at 800kbs. One of my teammates however can only dl at the 12-13kbs still if he is lucky, sometimes even lower. It would take him over an hour to dl the maps and we only run 20min matches on each map. He can dl from other servers redirects at 200-300kbs but from ours he is still low. doesn't matter if he is the only one downloading or if there is 10 at the same time. he has called his isp and ran multiple tests all showing that his dl speeds are where they should be. Can anyone offer any solutions to this problem, Why only him and only on ours? thanks in advance for any help.

I am not familiar with hosting for COD4 but I would only apply a general logic to the situation...
Can the person in question not download the maps on their own connection prior to connecting to play?

Thanks for the reply Hengis. Yes he can download the maps before playing and stick them into his folders manually but, we are also worried that there may be other people trying to play, as we are running a public server, and we don't find out they have the problem. Also the maps get changed very easily and the cfg files do also so he would have to keep up on every change that is made by our members that do the changes.. Actually that is how he has been playing now, which is not that big of a deal but it doesn't really fix the problem..Thank you very much though for the input, if you have any more please let me know as I have run out of ideas and have read every forum i can find with no avail..

now i am dowloading at 30kbs for some reason. i am beginning to think there is a problem with the redirect..any comments are greatfully accepted
