Default [Fixed] help, crysis wont load!

hi i recently bought Crysis, i put the disc in and it starts to make little beeping and tripping (i think) noises and nothing happens. ive tried clicking on the dvd drive in my computer but it just jams. my specs are xp, athlon x2 2.0ghz, 1gb ram, 300w Power Supply Unit and a new 8600gt.
this has happened a few times with different discs but the discs that do work, always work so i dont see how (though i have no clue) it could be my dvd drive.

any help greatly appreciated.

Hi, I had the same problem with crysis, i needed to upgrade the firmware for my dvd drive, if you post the model of your drive we can see if we can find some upgraded firmware and see if that fixes the problem

D

Also i would recommend upgrading your power supply, 300w isnt really enough to run that video card plus the rest of your system

hey jpph,

the model # for the cd/dvd rom is usually on the top of the device... so you'll have to open the case and look @ the top of the device. if you have to take out the device to see what it is and need help doing so let us know.

If you go into device manager, dvd drives, open that up and it should give your model number

Power supplies are relatively easy to fit, its only 4 screws holding it in the case and the wires only fit where there supposed to fit so you cant really get it wrong

Edit: Cheers Joey

Samsung Firmwares & Drivers On this page about 3 quarters of the way down you will see your dvd model number and a download link

As for a power supply i`d say something like this one OCZ StealthXStream 600W Power Supply Unit - SLI Ready ATX2.2 12cm LED Fan - Ebuyer more powerful than you really need now but with plenty of room to grow into if you wanna upgrade

wel i downloaded it, did what it told me restarted the pc etc but its still not working.
however when i restarted the pc when it was loading up it said remove any discs and restart the pc again because the firmware had been updated. i didnt know how to restart it so i just pressed the on/off button. could that have made a difference? it says found new hardware, a cd rom drive.
