I have this bizaare problem with battlefield 2 after harware and software upgrade, After a period of play the game begins to get choppy however the frame rate is still high, averaging above 60fps. Even still its becomes almost unplayable, i restart the computer and its fine again. Im dumbfounded in how to resolve this problem.

Specs well beyond system requirements-

1. XP Pro x64 OS
2. Asus M2R32-MVP Motherboard
3. AMD Athlon X2 64 4800
4. 2GB OCZ RAM DDR2 PC2-6400
5. CM 650W (SLI /CF Ready) eXtreme Power Silent Power Supply
6. Extreme-PC SI Radeon HD3870 Extreme XXX Edition 820Mhz Core | 512MB 2400Mhz DDR4

***Note i still had this problem with a Xp Pro x86, also OS has all upgrades and as does BF2 1.41. I dont experience this bizaare behaviour in any other games. If anyone has any suggests of what the problem could be or any solution i would have to hear them

Not that i have noticed, its almost seems like im running at a low 25 frames per second but its displaying 60fps average or i was thinking a CPU issue but i ran a AMD 3800+ prior o the AMD X2 4800+ and didnt have this issue. im clueless....
