Default [Resolved] Frontlines: Fuel of War trouble.

Hi,

I recently purchased frontlines: fuel of war for my new PC. The game runs seamlessly for the most part on very high, with FPS markings over 30 most of the time. My problem is that despite this great performance, the game keeps stopping every few seconds, freezing up, sound and all, and then returning to gameplay like normal, lag free. Does anyone have any solutions or know what could be the cause?

My Specs:
Gateway p-1683FX
Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 1.86GHz
4GB RAM
Windows Vista Home Premium
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX 512MB RAM Dedicated
250GB HDD

Thanks!

Hi, try running the game in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2. Right click the game EXE file and select Properties. From there go to the compatibility tab and change it to XP SP2 and click Ok. Try again.

Regards,
Adam

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately that still didn't work. Is there anything else that could be causing it? i don't know if this helps, but the freezing doesn't occur in the main menu. It does however, occur in the GAME menu when i pause it-it freezes for a sec, goes back to normal with great FPS. This is really frusstrating, any help would be great.

Could be a driver issue. Do you have the latest drivers for your Graphics card and Sound Card? Also, with the 4GB of RAM, are you using a 64-bit version of Vista? You can check this by right clicking on Computer and selecting Properties. It will say it next System Type.

Regards,
Adam

Nah it's 32 bit. And the drivers are updated. I have solved the problem by leaving everything at high except "Foliage." It seems that this specific graphic was slowing me down. Good thing I don't play these games for the trees.
