Well, after I got my new video card and processor (3870 from powercolor and 6400+ BE from AMD) I dusted off my oblivion box and installed, along with the 1.2 patch, the UOP, QTP3, DLC frostcrag, orrery, vile lair, Frostcrag reborn, Key ring, that oblivion script thing, oblivion mod manager, etc. The mods have NO conflicts, game plays okay. If I try to level on stock oblivion it freezes up pretty bad for about 3-4 seconds and then resumes. But... if I try to load the save game or autosave from that point or anytime after, the game crashes with a dr watson error. (We're sorry but Oblivion has encountered a problem and needs to close...)

I'm stuck with a level 1 character ready to level to level 2 and I can't ******* level because it keeps CRASHING. :s

I'm at my wits end, I've been on google for 3 hours and have been toggling mods off and on hoping to find that its just a specific mod and not the game, I went over my ini and I'm sure there's a line or two in the gameplay section where TrackPlayerLevelUp or whatever is, but I can't find what the default is without reinstalling oblivion completely !

Its now 2 in the morning as I write this and man I am frustrated. I was hoping to get some good gaming in tonight riding that dragon and doing the frostcrag quest :s

Yeah, its frustrating, I was plagued by random crashes on oblivion till i got a utility called 'Oldblivion' it is made to run oblivion for older PC's but it also seems to stop things crashing, give it a go, its like 1.2mb anyway lol

I was able to find the issue. The frostcrag reborn mod requires that shivering isles already be installed. So, I got it, installed it, and now everything works okay. I think I have one too many mods though as load times are slower than usual. I also gotta update my PC in my profile.
