Default Battle Feild 2 CTD

Amd 6400+BEX2 3.2Ghz
2gb ram patriot dual channel EPP 4-4-4-12 timeing 800Mhz ddr2 800
Nvidia 6600 silent no fan. only heat sink.

The game battle field 2 keeps CTD crash to desktop.
At first I can play about one map It would crash on the second.
So I would reload it and keep playing. It loads fast so its not a big problem, but then it crashes more often and then it wont start at all.

Its not heat. I can keep the cpu at max usage a cool 42C, at idle 28C
The video card does not heat up. I can put my hand into the case and feel the heatsink. Its not hot at all.

Its not the ram. I ran it for 4800% coverage x2 for each stick over night. It gave 0 errors.
the program was Memtest. (the cpu stayed at 40C over night the MB was 28C)

I used Asus pc probe to find the temps.

What can I do to make it stop crashing?

Have you patched the game to the latest version?
Battlefield 2 old versions are infamous for crashing.

1. I have 3 WD hd's 10gb for windows. (should get more) 80gb for music and 250gb for games and movies and every thing else.

2. No I have not patched. But I do use a no cd patch. I hate looking for cds.

Uninstall the game.
Install the game.
Patch it to the latest version, and don't install a no cd crack.

Never mind. What happedned was that Bf2 is a single core game. I have a dual core cpu. All I had to do was.
1. Start the game
2. atl tab into windows
3. open task manager
4. right click on bf2 and set affinity to only one core.

The no-cd does not give the problems. The game worked fine on my old single core cpu.(well it was playable)
