Default Mouse Problem.

hello,
after buying a microsoft sidewinder, logitech mx518,saitek, the assigned keys on all of them don't work when i run call of duty united offensive in administrator mode, and if you have vista and know the game, you'll know you must run in admin mode or punkbuster kicks you all day long. But if i run CodUO not in admin mode, all side and wheel buttons work fine.

after searching google, contacting HP, emailing Activision, and asking tech help in 2 useless pc world's, still no answer to my dreaded mouse problem, so if there is anyone with some ideas, they would be extremely gratefully received.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hello and Welcome to PCHF

Please keep in mind that none of us who work on these support forums are paid for what we do. Our efforts are on an entirely volunteer basis, and if we're away from the forums for any amount of time, that means that our real-life responsibilities haven't left us with any free time to dedicate to our work here. Also we are still in the Holiday Season and there are some who are still away from their normal environment and visiting family in another location.

As for your mouse issue, are you certain it is compatible with Vista, cause what I read here is :
The software is designed specifically for Windows XP. The optical mouse will work with other versions of Windows, but you won't be able to set up or use the special gaming features included with the Logitech SetPoint mouse drivers. The SetPoint software allows you to assign tasks to six of the eight mouse buttons; the remaining two buttons are permanently assigned as standard left and right mouse clicks.
Con: SetPoint software only runs with Windows XP, leaving some of the better features unavailable with other versions of Windows.

Understood. excuse me i didn't mean to sound rude.

about mouse problem, its just so strange that all 4 mouse's assigned keys work fine on vista desktop and other games including call of duty 1,2,4.

they all just don't like call of duty united offensive in administrator mode.
