It is very hard to make choices from the thousands of possibilites--without a budget--
you could spend several hundred to several thousand... thought it would be tough to do it too cheaply-- and have the performance you wish for.
I would say $1000.00 would be a good place to start... you get a few ideas-- and tweak it from there.

With 5000 you should get a whole new system... and a very nice one.
If you built it yourself at that figure-- it could be insanely fast.
You would not need to salvage anything from your old setup-- you could use it for file storage or a firewall.
