Default [Resolved] Links Golf 2003 problem

Hi y'all (merry xmas) does anybody play Links Golf 2003 on an XP machine and by any chance overcome 'please insert disc 1' followed by 'cannot locate media' and at the bottom of the screen RUKSHUK.EXE. I can install the game but it will not play. I've had a trawl through the net and it seemed a common problem in 2002. Lots of different reasons/problems most of which could apply to me. I've tried running the game in compatibility for 95/98/ME mode, no joy. I've tried the 2 official patches v1.02 and v1.03. no joy. I read somewhere about replacing the RUKSHUK.EXE file with the one in the archive of patch v1.02 but I failed to find it within the patch. At ||| XPLOSIV ||| Home theres a page on the game support which mentions more possible conflicts. I used to have Norton Ghost which apparently creates a virtual drive. I have uninstalled N.G. but I don't know how to reset and remove the virtual drive. There's also apparently a conflict with XP Home and Fast User Switching. Or perhaps my DVD drive just can't read the disc. I'm surprised though because my Dell Inspiron 6400 is new and its a Microsoft Game. Any thoughts/help or perhaps common experiences and solutions would be much appreciated. I would download the game for $6 but my internet connection is really slow. Thanks guys and girls. Ali

Yea excellent I've fixed it and it know works 100%. It was the RUKSHUK.EXE file. I Google searched RUKSHUK.EXE and some nice person had posted the file in zip. I downloaded it and deleted my RUKSHUK.EXE file and replaced it with the good RUKSHUK.EXE file and now it works A OK! I'm so happy! I thought all that stuff about virtual drives,drivers,fast-user switching etc was a bit gammy! Anyway the solution is on the net and easy-peasy. Ali
