Unhappy games crashing recently

Hi,

I recently did a registry scan with CCleaner.

Now all of my games crash after a while, some more frequently than others.
The time-frame could be a couple of hours after starting it, to a few seconds.

I don't think that they started crashing immediately after the scan, it maybe started a few days later. This is happening to games that are installed after the scan as well.

I do have a backup of my registry, although it is dated, and a few programs have been installed after the scan, so I am reluctant to use it.

So I'd like someone to confirm that from doing a scan in CCleaner that the above is happening because of the scan.

Thanks

I doubt it is to do with Ccleaner cos i use it all the time. The last time i checked games are not meant to crash all the time, this is the big problem im thinking. Im afraid due to my limited knowledge of computers i am unable to determine what your problem is, all i can say is that doing a registry scan on Ccleaner shouldn't do anything out of the ordinary - I am only saying this from experience as i use it to clean my system all the time. Try if you have not to download latest Graphics drivers and latest direct x, also check if your pc aint overheating with a program that monitors temperatures like speedfan as i had a similar problem and i had to install more fans to cool my system. I am not really clear on what you mean by "scan" do you mean deleting/fixing the registry files?

Yes I meant fixing and deleting registries.
So It couldn't be the CCleaner, and I know that I have the drivers for my graphics card.
I know that i have a recent if not newest version of directx.

My core temperature looks normal, I think it was 62 degrees the last time my game crashed. Then the internal and external temps were fine.

So it seems that i am out of suggestions, anyone else that knows more able to help?

62 degrees is a little bit high if you're playing your games. That could be one cause why the games are crashing.

yes that was why i ask, that is rather hot, if you have had your pc for a while i would suggest purchasing a can compressed air to blow away any dust formation in your cpu heatsink and fan. A good scoosh in your computer will enable your cooling systems (fans/heatsinks) to work more effectively. Dust can also damage the fan motors, so if clearing any dust does not help, it may be time to purchase a new fan for the cpu. keeping your system clean is very important. I am only advising this if you are talking about a desktop computer, i dont know much about laptop maintanance. hope this helps Tell me if you need more help regarding dust and fans.
