hi been using this forum for a while now, so i think instead of asking a question i'll try and help with gears of war.
i installed it today, been looking forward to it since i saw the xbox ads for it. grr
and ....couldn't get past options screen... ouch..doh
tryed a few reinstalls, naa that don't change nowt...
takes an age to install btw as its over 12gb...
anyhow searched a few forums and got the answer i needed..
am running vista 64 bit think its the same for all vista users so ok...
go to program files in vista
look for
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\Binaries\Startup.exe"
right click to properties and set to run as administrator, also send it to desktop as you don't usually get a desktop shortcut with this game at present.
then run your game from the new desktop short cut.. i right click and chose to run as administrator (just to be sure) and all is good.
all though i played for 2 hours and forgot to register my game and lost all past saves when i did register... you've been warned..
what a great looking game, happy days.

this thread may not be of use to xp users having difficulty, but it work for vista, well me anyhow and i've one hell of an unstable settup, only just managed to get graw working...

heard for xp if you try and run it in windowed mode it works...
