Default Team Fortress 2, Jumpy

Don't know if this is a game problem or an internet problem. Been playing Team Fortress 2 (alot), my latency usualy shows as being between 20-40, and the game works well mostly but once every minute or two it seems like connection stops for about two seconds, so I stop moving then suddenly find myself running in to a distant wall or splattered across the floor having just been killed because I assume I wasn't moving.

I'm wirelessly connected with a Linksys card to a Linksys router. I've got a 2Meg deal with Tiscali and the connection seems fast enough when I'm just downloading stuff, and the wireless connection status shows "excellent signal strength" at 54Mbps. I could try playing on another PC that's hardwired to the router, but it's an old shared PC that I wouldn't really wanna use.

I know it's still a beta but there have been several updates and the problem hasn't changed. Is this a common problem?

Can you try another online game and see if it lags too?

Ok, I tried Unreal Tournament and Half-Life deathmatch on both PCs and although the effect isn't as noticable for those games, the wireless one definatly seems to be worse, seeming to disconnect for a second now and then. Although on Unreal Tournament is a bit strange, sometimes it seems like I get stuck to the map but I can still see what other players are doing.

Hi Little Franklin,

Sorry for the delay in reply to your question.
Can you please post the specs of your computer for me? Knowing this information will give us a bit better understanding if it's lag or low FPS.

TF2 is the most graphically advanced game from Valve (from what they've said). So I'm not surprised some people would have some issues playing it.

I'm sure it's not low FPS, the FPS isn't great but it's steady, and the screen doesn't freeze, it jumps around the map and I can still see animations sometimes. Plus like I said I tried some other games and they seemed to have the same problem, it probably just seemed worse in Team Fortress because of the way it's programed.

I'm going to buy a new ariel for my wireless card and see if that helps.
